Following on from their rider and manufacturer championship wins in World Superbike 2010 with Max Biaggi and the RSV4, the Aprilia RS4 125 and Aprilia RS4 50 bikes were launched today at the Milan motorcycle Show.
Styled to closely reflect the newly crowned RSV4, these two bike are jaw droopingly gorgeous and are surely going to be at the top of every youngster's wish list.
They are essentially the same specification, with the difference being the engines. The 125 is a big departure for Aprilia, who have finally succumbed to environmental pressure, and have replaced their iconic rotax 2-stroke with an in-house twin cam, 4 valve, electronic fuel injection, six speed, 4-stroke single cylinder . The 50 remains a 2-stroke.
From the company that has dominated the motoGP 125 class for years, expect this bike to have class leading handling with its race derived chassis, 41mm upside down forks and rear monoshock, all stopped by the front 300mm disc and 4 pot radial calipers.
The exhaust is integrated into the lower fairing, centralizing the mass and giving exceptionally clean lines.
Availability we're guessing is next Spring, with prices slightly over £4,000 OTR for the 125 and slightly less than £3,000 OTR for the 50. So, get saving now...
